Salmon River Scenic Byway Idaho Scenic Drive – (Stanley to Salmon)

In this video, we embark on one of the most scenic drives in Idaho and the American West. The Salmon River Scenic Byway offers a diverse range of landscapes. Our journey begins in Stanley, where lodgepole pine forests stretch right to the edge of the Salmon River. As we head north toward Challis, we transition into a drier area, characterized by sage-covered hills and steep canyon walls. Throughout the trip, we remain close to the Salmon River, which means we’ll encounter many curves! Our drive concludes in the town of Salmon, but the scenic byway continues to the Montana border.
