YellowJacket Lake Campground – Idaho

One of the most remote and peaceful drive-in campgrounds I have ever been too. It’s peaceful for a reason because it takes some effort to get to. Yellowjacket Lake is about a 50 mile drive on gravel and unimproved forest roads. I would not do this drive with out a vehicle that has good clearance, good tires, and a good spare. 4 wheel drive may be required at times. The nearest towns are Salmon & Challis Idaho. Near by is the trailhead for the Big Horn Crags which is a fantastic chain of peaks and lakes.

For this destination I used the GAIA GPS App and my Idaho Benchmark Atlas extensively! Click the links below to get your own and support this site!
